ENJOY THE OCEAN WITH THESE TRAVELING TIPS

by Royal Holiday March 29, 2023
written by Royal Holiday

Would this be your first time? Have you never been on a cruise? Well, this is your lucky day! Here you will get all the information that you should know about going on a vacation on one of these amazing cruises. Enjoy the beautiful ocean with these traveling tips and tricks and have a unique adventure on the sea.

Going on a cruise is combining two vacations in one. The cruise ship itself offers a complete vacation experience with high-quality amenities and wonderful destinations that will feel like a second vacation. Going on a cruise is a wonderful experience to share with your family, and friends, or even to find yourself and recharge energy.

This is why we’ve decided to gather these tips for you. Check them out and keep them in your mind while you explore the cruise during your vacation on the sea.

TRAVELING TIPS

  1. Get to know the ship. Try to avoid getting lost and explore the different decks and amenities of the cruise ship.
  2. Take your key card everywhere. When you do your cruise check-in you will be given a key card that will help you enter your room, however, this key card will also work as an ID card that you will be asked for multiple times during your vacation and even sometimes specific amenities.
  3. Smile! Your smile is a great trait both on land and on board. Look out for the camera.
  4. Be mindful of the rest of the travelers. Try not to slam doors or walk loud or scream in the hallways. Treat others like you would like to be treated.
  5. Take clothes for any occasion! Be aware of what you are wearing, you won’t be wearing a tux to go to the pool or a swimsuit for a gala night.
  6. Don’t exceed yourself! Remember that the term All-Inclusive isn’t an invitation to abuse the consumption of food and alcohol, especially alcohol!
  7. Be discrete! If something that happened on board is bothering you, talk to a staff member privately or go to the guest services desk. Don’t make it public!
  8. Casinos. If you want to have a fun night at a casino you must take some cash since the All-Inclusive plan isn’t applied here!
  9. Don’t let the cruise leave without you! Being on time for these trips is very important and it truly is what makes a difference for events and land excursions. If you leave the boat for a tour make sure you come back in time because the cruise could leave without you!
  10. Respect is the key! Follow the rules for the different amenities and you will have a fun trip in perfect harmony with the rest of the travelers and staff members.

TIPS FOR THE EXCURSIONS

An image collage of a person wearing a hat, backpack, sunscreen, tennis, comfortable clothes, and a bus stop.

During your cruise trip, it is very common for the navy company to offer different tours and excursions for the destinations on your route. During these excursions, you will always be surrounded by more travelers and you will get transportation back and forth to make sure the cruise doesn’t leave without you on board.

If you leave the ship for a tour we would recommend you take the following things:

  1. Always wear clothes that fit the weather of the destination. If you go to the beach you should probably wear comfortable clothes, if you are visiting a cold destination then remember to take your jacket with you.
  2. Take a small backpack and try to take a change of clothes and sunscreen.
  3. Charge your devices the night before your tour since you will be off the cruise ship for most of the day and you will probably be able to get internet somewhere.

Now you know! Book your next cruise vacation with your Royal Holiday membership and keep in mind these tips. It’s time to have an amazing cruise ship experience!

The Best Type Of Cruise For Your Perfect Holiday

by Royal Holiday August 23, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

Planning a cruise can be an overwhelming experience filled with so many options that you may feel like your head might explode with excitement and trepidation. There are many choices out there, and the fear of making a bad choice and probably wasting a lot of money and vacation time, is some to be taken seriously.

Cruises come in many different sizes and shapes and go beyond what everyone sees in brochures and Internet ads. The beautiful Caribbean festive boats, the elegant Mediterranean luxury cruises and the adventurous arctic expeditions are just some of the examples of how diverse and fulfilling, a cruise ship vacations can be.

We are sure here at Royal Holiday that you wish you could have them all, and perhaps in time, you will accompany us in many different adventures to all of our different destinations; but if you have to choose one, which one will it be?

To help you making a decision, we are showing you today just a sample of the different type of expeditions that exist in the world of cruising, in an attempt to assist you finding what is best for you and your loved ones and hope we can meet all of your expectations.

Family Cruises

Family Cruises are some of the most popular style of vacations out there. Is great knowing that everyone in your party is having a great time, so shooting for a family cruise is a great safe choice and you are guaranteed to have tons of fun. Children love variety and knowing that the next great adventure is right around the corner. Carnival Cruises offer an excellent choice for entertainment and their Seuss at Sea program may be just what you are looking for to give your kids an experience they will never forget. Remember that only because this is a family cruise it doesn’t mean only the children get to play. There are daycare services for the very little ones in case you want to spend some alone time with your significant other, as well as many casual options for dining, activities for adults and larger cabins so you and your family can be as comfortable as possible.

River Cruises

River cruises are becoming more and more popular lately and they are a fun choice worth looking into if you want to try something different. A continent like Europe provides a great perspective of many interesting cities when you explore them in a river cruise; this is mostly due to the fact that many classic cities were actually born of their proximity to its rivers that were used as trading routes back then. River cruises are smaller and smaller and provide you with a more personal and intimate relationship to your fellow travelers, something that could be great if you are traveling alone or with a group of singles. Even though Europe does have a lot more choices when it comes to river cruises, the United States and China also have some interesting options for those interested in this type of adventure.

Expedition Cruises

Expedition Cruises are for those seeking for adventure and exploration of faraway places and to spend as little time as possible inside the actual boat. People are surprised when they hear the exact details of an expedition cruise, because they hear nothing of shows, fancy dinners and extravagant on board entertainment. Expeditions cruises are about getting out there and experiencing nature and being part of activities that involve nature and the outdoors. This type of cruise is clearly not for everyone, so if you want to embark in a truly unforgettable experience, come ready to ride kayaks, Zodiac rafts and to learn about science and many aspects of the natural world. It is not uncommon in this type of cruises to have lecturers and to see presentations about topics of interests in the fields of culture, history, geology, geography, biology, ecology or anthropology of ship’s destinations.

Romantic Cruises

Romantic cruises are one of the most popular categories for those interested in a cruise type of vacation. These are perfect for honeymooners, to celebrate anniversaries or simply for a well-earned holiday next to your significant other. Cruises provide the perfect atmosphere for romance and our cruise lines are ready to exceed all of your expectations for a perfect experience. How would you feel about having a date night, every night? The great dining options offered make it so every single evening is perfect. You can choose different styles of experiences from casual meals to the most lavish and magical evening listening to soft music live while enjoying some of the best cuisine from all around the world. The ocean has a specific appeal for lovers that is difficult to match. Imagine being able to see every sunset without any obstructions and be woken up every morning to go outside and feel the sea breeze. No matter what you do, even if you spend your days just relaxing and resting with your loved one, a romantic cruise is a great experience for bonding and enjoying each other company.

Surprising prices to pay for cruises. Travel cheap and save a good amount of money.

by Royal Holiday January 17, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

Cruises can be very luxurious and very expensive.  They range from cheap cruises that are not listed in the top lists for impressive cruises to the ones that are the biggest and most amazing vessels you can find.  It all depends on what you want, when you want it, who are you travelling with and what are you willing to do on board. Of course, you can get very expensive plans and activities, but you can also find cheap and enjoyable things to do while on the mini floating city you are travelling on.

First, be smart to book your room. Most boats don’t want to sail with half empty spaces and 50% accommodation rates. It is similar to booking a travel tour. The nearest the departure date, the cheapest the bookings are. Of course, you can book in advance, but since you are looking for the best prices, be patient and wait for last minute prices discounts. You will find yourself in a world where prices can go down as far as 60% on your room and your travel expenses.

Second, book your own air fare. Don’t do it through the cruise line since they charge you their fee and their commission, so it can be as high as 50% more for the flight. Do it yourself. DIY is a trend now so keep up with it and don’t be lazy to look for your own tickets. If you don’t know how to do it or never done it before. Use a trustworthy travel agent that can help you with your air tickets to the cruise destination. You will be saving a good amount of money just by doing this.

Third, sign up for alerts and try to book through an expert or a person that knows the cruise world and its business model like the back of his or her hand. Booking through an expert and waiting for alerts can save you up to 120 USD and can get you an extra 100 USD shipboard credit. Also, you can find refundable deposits and amazing deals on activities and on board sweepstakes. Children activities can also be cheap if you know what your children like to do and not pay for everything at the same time.

Fourth, look for a good cabin away from crowded places and far away from main attractions. This could sound a little bit strange but you can get big savings by just walking a little bit more on the ship. Of course, ask for a map of the ship so you don’t get lost and miss out on good things. All of the cruises have elevators and user friendly corridors and routes to get where you want to go in less than 20 minutes. Don’t be lazy and sign up for 15 minutes walks to get anywhere around the boat.

Fifth. Cruise in the off season. Depending on your country and where you are going, choose an off season to travel. When children are at school; in the hurricane season in the Caribbean, or in September in Alaska. These types of seasons attract less people, thus giving you the advantage of a late booking with amazing cabins and fees. Vacations like spring break or summer holidays are the most expensive. Why don’t you take a cruise in May or October ? Hurricane season in the Caribbean is always a season that everybody avoids. Try not being afraid of these seasons as the boats are totally safe and disaster is not very often in these types of vacations.

As for the last advice. Look for repositioning cruises. What does this mean? Well, it is when cruise lines move ships to very popular destinations just before the season start. As a complement for the previous point, you can sail on these type of ships and have the experience of a lifetime sailing across an ocean or down continental coasts just by hoping on ships that are being moved from one part to another. You can find these type of deals at any booking website and they come ever so cheap as the route is not designed as a touristic or seasonal trip.

These six tips can help you book a cheap vacation for you and your family and save you a lot of money in cruise deals. It is thought that cruise liners are for rich people , but now you have some advice and a starter to go and find the best vacation you can ever have and at very affordable prices. Don’t wait for people to tell you how cruises are. Go and book your cabin and plane ticket, ask your agency and use these tips. You will not regret it.
