THE 311 RULE ON A CRUISE, EMBARKING WITHOUT SETBACKS

by Royal Holiday August 2, 2026
written by Royal Holiday
311 RULE CRUISE

The 3:1:1 rule is the international regulation for transporting liquids, gels, and sprays in carry-ons for security checkpoints, both in airports and on cruises. Its name summarises what you should know: each number represents a specific condition you must meet to transport the liquid.

The first number, 3, refers to the limit on container size: liquid containers can’t exceed 100 milliliters (3.4 ounces). The second number, 1, indicates that all those containers should be stored in an airtight, see-through bag, like a Ziploc bag. And the third number, also 1, explains that passengers can only take one of these bags in their carry-on. The combination of the three requisites gives this rule its name.

WHAT LIQUIDS CAN YOU TAKE IN YOUR CARRY-ON

liquidos maleta

Under the 3:1:1 rule, you can take practically any liquids in your transparent bag, as long as the containers don’t exceed 100 ml. This includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, perfume, mouthwash, toothpaste, gel or liquid deodorant, and sunscreen. The bag should be closed all the way without the containers sticking out, and we recommend it has an approximate capacity of a fourth of a gallon, so about 18 by 23 centimeters. Check out this honest guide to Disney cruises

It is important to remember that the rule doesn’t limit the number of containers you can take, as long as they all fit in the bag and no containers exceed the 100 ml limit. If you need larger quantities of a product, the easiest solution is to put it in your checked baggage, where there are no restrictions for liquids. Onboard and prepared, travel without setbacks, learn more here.

EXCEPTIONS YOU SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH

familia cruceros

There are some exceptions to the 3:1:1 rule that are useful for those who travel with special needs. Liquid medications, breast milk, baby formulas, and food for special medical conditions can be over 100 ml, as long as you inform security personnel and, in some cases, if you have documentation for it. These don’t have to go inside the transparent bag, but they could be inspected separately.

PRACTICAL TIPS TO PACK EASILY

To avoid unnecessary setbacks, choose containers with screw caps instead of those that could leak during the flight or navigation. Label your containers so you don’t mix up similar products, and distribute the contents evenly so the bag is flat in your carry-on. If you have questions about a particular product, we recommend asking first or putting it in your checked baggage. These small details can make the difference between a smooth embarkation and a longer-than-needed waiting line.

HOLLAND AMERICA LINE: THE CRUISE LINE THAT BLENDS ELEGANCE AND ADVENTURE

by Royal Holiday June 28, 2026
written by Royal Holiday
Holland America Line

More than 150 years ago, Holland America Line made a decision that continues to define the brand today: know exactly who its ideal traveler is and build an experience around that vision with remarkable consistency.

The result is a cruise line that inspires strong opinions, not because it’s controversial, but because it excels for a very specific type of traveler while appealing less to others.

OVER 150 YEARS OF HISTORY

Founded in 1873 as the Netherlands-America Steamship Company, Holland America Line began as a passenger and cargo transportation company connecting Europe and North America. It wasn’t created as a leisure cruise line. It was built around serious transportation and operational excellence. That heritage remains visible today through the company’s reputation for attentive service, reliability, and consistency.

Every ship in the fleet ends with the suffix “-dam,” a tribute to Dutch cities, landmarks, and traditions. Names such as the Rotterdam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Oosterdam, and Westerdam reflect a tradition that has become part of the cruise line’s identity.

One of the company’s most notable recent achievements is being recognized as the best cruise line for dining by U.S. News Travel’s 2026 rankings, a significant distinction in one of the industry’s most competitive categories. Winning this, knowing other cruise lines may spend more money in marketing, talks highly about the cruise line’s consistency.

WHAT MAKES HOLLAND AMERICA DIFFERENT?

Holland America operates a fleet of 11 ships carrying between approximately 1,432 and 2,668 guests each. The line maintains roughly one crew member for every two passengers, creating a more personalized atmosphere, attentive service, and less of the “mega-ship” feeling found on some other cruise lines.

Here are some of the features that loyal guests consistently highlight:

🎵MUSIC WALK: ONE OF THE BEST LIVE MUSIC EXPERIENCES AT SEA

Holland America’s signature Music Walk brings together multiple live music venues on a single ship. Guests can enjoy Lincoln Center Stage performances featuring classical music, B.B. King’s Blues Club showcasing blues and jazz, Billboard Onboard piano performances and sing-alongs. These are professional musicians hired specifically for these programs, not simply onboard entertainers. For travelers who value live music as part of their vacation, Holland America offers one of the nicest entertainment programs at sea.

🍽️DINING WITH A DISTINCT IDENTITY

The fleet features specialty restaurants such as Pinnacle Grill, the line’s signature steakhouse, and Tamarind, known for its contemporary Asian cuisine. An international team of chefs develops menus that emphasize regional ingredients, culinary traditions, and sustainable sourcing practices.

One tradition beloved by repeat guests takes place during scenic sailings in destinations such as Alaska and the Norwegian fjords. Crew members serve traditional Dutch pea soup on deck while guests admire glaciers and dramatic landscapes. It’s a small detail, but one that reflects the company’s heritage and attention to detail.

🎨FLOATING ART COLLECTION

Each ship features a curated collection valued in millions of dollars, combining Dutch artists with contemporary international artists. The collection aboard the Oosterdam, has been valued at more than $3 million dollars.

These are original works displayed throughout public spaces, not reproductions or decorative prints. The artwork onboard is far more than decoration.

🗺️ITINERARIES THAT GO BEYOND THE ORDINARY

Holland America is widely recognized for its expertise in Alaska. The cruise line offers exclusive access to destinations such as Glacier Bay National Park along with onboard educational programs focused on local wildlife, history, and geology. Its portfolio also includes Northern Europe, The British Isles, Iceland and The Mediterranean. These itineraries are designed for travelers who prioritize destination immersion as much as the ship itself.

🏛️EXPLORATIONS CENTRAL (EXC)

The EXC program is designed to help guests better understand each destination before arriving. Through destination talks, cultural presentations, cooking demonstrations, and educational programming, travelers gain valuable context that enriches their experience ashore. The difference between simply visiting a destination and truly understanding it.

WHAT MANY CRUISE GUIDES DON’T TELL YOU

Holland America is not designed around waterslides, zip lines, surf simulators, or go-kart tracks. Evening entertainment tends to finish earlier than on cruise lines focused on high-energy nightlife and family attractions. For some travelers, this is exactly the appeal, for others, another cruise line may be a better fit.

English is the primary language onboard. While Spanish-speaking International Hosts are available on every ship, most activities, menus, and entertainment are conducted in English.

WHO IS HOLLAND AMERICA FOR?

Based on everything above, Holland America is often an excellent fit for travelers who:

  • ✅Are typically over 40 years old, traveling as couples, solo travelers, or groups of friends without kids
  • ✅Prioritize quality in service and dining, over quantity of onboard attractions
  • ✅Enjoy learning about destinations and local culture but also enjoy the time onboard
  • ✅Prefer a relaxed, elegant atmosphere without excessive formality
  • ✅Appreciate live music as a very important experience onboard
  • ✅Are interested in destinations such as Alaska, Northern Europe, Iceland, and the Mediterranean

It’s no coincidence that nearly 40% of Holland America’s 2026 sailings were already reserved or under deposit before the year even began. Travelers who discover Holland America tend to return with a level of loyalty that few cruise lines in the industry can match. Learn all about cruise food myths and realities.

WHAT’S NEW FOR 2026?

Holland America continues enhancing its entertainment offerings with more immersive productions inspired by cruise destinations. Depending on the itinerary, guests may enjoy performances featuring regional music styles such as folk music, mariachi, or steel-pan bands.

The cruise line is also partnering with sister brand Carnival Cruise Line to redevelop its shared private island destination, Half Moon Cay, with a new beach club and infrastructure improvements expected to be ready in summer 2026.

Rather than pursuing rapid fleet expansion, Holland America’s strategy focuses on refining the guest experience across its existing fleet, creating a product that many travelers find consistently reliable and predictable.

CRUISE FOOD MYTHS VS. REALITY

by Royal Holiday June 26, 2026
written by Royal Holiday

Few aspects of cruising generate as many opinions as the food. Some travelers describe it as one of the highlights of the entire vacation. Others expect endless buffets, reheated meals, and limited choices. The truth, once you look behind the scenes, is far more interesting than either extreme. Let’s analyze all the facts.

MYTH #1: “IT’S THE SAME FOOD EVERY DAY, JUST ARRANGED DIFFERENTLY”

Partially true, but scale changes everything.

On a large cruise ship, a culinary team of approximately 300 chefs, work shifts of 10 – 12 hours to prepare nearly 30,000 meals every day. To put that number into perspective, some guests eat up to eight times a day between breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and late-night bites. During peak sailings, a large ship may serve nearly 9,000 people, including both passengers and crew.

Maintaining variety on that scale requires an extraordinary level of planning. Food orders are often arranged up to 80 days in advance, and ships may bake as much as 700 kilograms of fresh bread and prepare around 600 of artisan pizzas daily. Menu rotation exists for a reason, this is to prevent repetition. On a typical week-long cruise, it’s entirely possible to enjoy a different meal every day simply by exploring the available dining venues on board.

MYTH #2: “EVERYTHING IS FROZEN AND PROCESSED”

This is mostly false, since there’s fresh ingredients involved.

Cruise ships regularly replenish fresh ingredients throughout their itineraries. Meat, seafood, fruits, and vegetables are restocked at major ports. Many ships have dedicated provisioning teams responsible for coordinating food and beverage deliveries at port, normally a couple of times per day.

Of course, some items are frozen, just as they are in restaurants and home kitchens around the world. Certain seafood products, specialty cuts of meat, and frozen desserts are stored this way to maintain quality. However, salads, baked goods, fresh pasta, and many of the ship’s main dishes are prepared using fresh ingredients.

MYTH #3: “SPECIALTY RESTAURANTS ARE JUST FOR MARKETING”

MSC Orchestra

MSC Orchestra

True, but there’s a reason behind this.

Many cruise lines partner with internationally recognized chefs to create specialty dining experiences. For example, Royal Caribbean has collaborated with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver on its onboard Italian dining concept. These venues typically feature smaller, more curated menus and place greater emphasis on culinary technique, presentation, and service. Reservations are often required because seating is intentionally limited to provide a more personalized dining experience.

The difference isn’t just presentation, it’s the time, preparation, and attention given to each dish.

MYTH #4: “THE BUFFET IS ALWAYS THE LEAST IMPRESSIVE OPTION”

Cruceroadicto.com

It depends on how you see it.

The buffet is designed for flexibility. It’s often open for extended hours, serves everything from breakfast to late-night snacks, and doesn’t require reservations or assigned seating. Because it serves a high volume of guests, some travelers assume quality is sacrificed for convenience.

However, most cruise ships also offer main dining rooms with table service for breakfast and lunch, often without reservations. These venues provide a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere while still being included in the cruise fare. The best approach is often a combination of both, quick meals at the buffet when you’re on the go, and leisurely dining room experiences when you have more time to enjoy them.

MYTH #5: “THERE ARE NO OPTIONS FOR SPECIAL DIETS”

Deluxe Travel

Definitely false.

Today’s cruise lines offer extensive accommodations for dietary needs, including: Gluten-free diets, vegetarian options, vegan menus, dairy-free alternatives and food allergy alternatives. Some cruise companies even work with specialized organizations to help develop and certify menu offerings.

The key is simple, just communicate your dietary needs before your cruise begins. Providing advance notice gives the culinary team time to prepare and ensure the best possible dining experience throughout your trip.

THE SURPRISING FACT IS THAT CRUISE SHIPS WORK HARD TO REDUCE FOOD WASTE

Cruceros Mediterráneo

Cruceros Mediterráneo

One aspect many passengers never see is the amount of planning that goes into minimizing waste. Cruise lines constantly analyze consumption patterns from previous sailings to predict future demand. For example, family-focused itineraries may require larger quantities of foods such as burgers, pizza, and chicken tenders. Other sailings may show higher demand for seafood, specialty cuisine, or healthier menu options.

This data helps cruise lines order the right quantities of ingredients, maintain variety, and reduce unnecessary waste, all while delivering a better guest experience.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR NEXT CRUISE

Understanding the logistics behind cruise food won’t change what’s on your plate, but it can help you take the best decisions on what to eat.

A few practical tips:

  • 🍽️ Review the daily menu (printed or in the cruise app) each morning. Specialty dishes and themed menus may only be offered once during your sailing.
  • 📅Reserve specialty restaurants with time, especially on busy sailings or ships featuring celebrity-chef collaborations.
  • 🥗Notify the cruise line of dietary restrictions when booking, do not wait to do it after boarding.
  • 🍕Balance buffet dining with table-service restaurants based on your schedule. Quick meals work well between excursions, while sea days are perfect for longer dining experiences.

And while you’re planning your onboard activities, consider another common cruise question: is it worth staying onboard while everyone else goes ashore?

IS IT MANDATORY TO DRESS FORMALLY ON A CRUISE? A PRACTICAL DRESS CODE GUIDE

by Royal Holiday June 6, 2026
written by Royal Holiday

One of the most common questions that comes up while planning a cruise is whether it is mandatory to dress formally. The idea of elegant dinners and strict dress codes can create some uncertainty, especially for those going on a cruise for the first time. However, the reality is that cruise dress codes are much more flexible than you might imagine.

So, is it really mandatory to dress up on a cruise? The answer is simple: not always.

CRUISE DRESS CODES: MORE FLEXIBLE THAN YOU THINK

On most cruises today, dress codes have evolved to adapt to different types of travelers. While some cruise lines still host formal dinners, participation in these events and dress codes is usually optional.

This means you can choose to dress for the occasion or maintain a more casual style while enjoying your vacation.

TYPES OF OUTFITS TO WEAR ON BOARD}

To better understand what you should pack for your cruise, it’s helpful to know the three most common dress styles you’ll encounter:

●       Casual

Comfortable outfits for daytime activities. These typically include lightweight clothing, swimsuits, flip-flops, and breathable attire that will help you enjoy the pools, onboard activities, and shore excursions.

●       Smart Casual

Many restaurants require a slightly more polished look in the evenings without being overly formal. Button-down shirts, blouses, simple dresses, and nice pants are usually perfect for this environment.

●       Formal (Optional)

Some special evenings invite guests to dress up for a gala or elegant dinner, calling for suits, long dresses, and more sophisticated attire. These events provide a great opportunity to take photos, enjoy a special dinner, and experience a different side of cruise life. However, participation is generally not mandatory.

RESTAURANTS: WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN PACKING

Dress codes can vary depending on the restaurant. Buffets and casual dining venues typically allow relaxed attire, while specialty restaurants or themed dinners may require a slightly more polished appearance.

A good rule of thumb is to avoid wearing beachwear to indoor dinner venues. Beyond that, the key is to pack a balance of comfortable clothing and a few more stylish options.

PACKING WITHOUT STRESS

Knowing what clothes to bring on a cruise can make packing much easier. You don’t need to fill your suitcase with formal attire; having a few versatile pieces that you can mix and match throughout your vacation is more than enough.

For example, consider packing:

  • One elegant outfit for an optional formal night
  • Comfortable daytime clothing
  • A few smart-casual outfits for evening activities
  • Practical and comfortable footwear
  • Dressier shoes if you plan to attend formal dinners

The goal is to be prepared without overpacking. Say goodbye to seasickness with these hacks!

ENJOY ROYAL AT SEA YOUR OWN WAY

Traveling with Royal at Sea means having the freedom to enjoy your cruise in your own style. Whether you want to participate in Gala Night events or prefer to maintain a relaxed and comfortable look throughout your trip, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and enjoy every moment.

Modern cruises are designed to accommodate different travel styles by moving away from strict rules and focusing on personalized experiences for every guest.

BALANCE IS THE KEY

Attending a Gala Night on a cruise can be a fun and memorable experience, but it is not a requirement. What matters most is feeling comfortable in what you’re wearing and having appropriate clothing options for the activities you want to enjoy.

At the end of the day, the best way to travel is the way that best suits your needs!

OPEN SEA WELLNESS: WHAT YOU CAN’T MISS IN THE CRUISE’S SPAS AND GYMS

by Royal Holiday April 7, 2026
written by Royal Holiday

Going on a cruise means waking up in a new place every day, but it can also be the perfect opportunity to take care of yourself. The movement of the waves, the marine breeze, and the ocean’s tranquility are excellent companions for wellness. However, cruises elevate that experience with first-class spa services, advanced fitness spaces, and programs designed to nurture your body and mind. If you’re asking what spa services you can find on a cruise and how you can make the most out of them, this wellness guide with Royal at Sea will give you all the information you need.

HIGH-QUALITY SPAS AT SEA

Today’s cruises consider wellness as a central part of the experience. Instead of only offering basic massages, many ships have spas with multiple rooms where you can access:

  • Relaxing and therapeutic massages are ideal for relieving stress or releasing muscular tension after a day of activities.
  • Personalized facial treatments with premium products to hydrate, exfoliate, or revitalize your skin.
  • Holistic therapies like reflexology, acupressure, or treatments inspired by global wellness traditions.
  • Hydrotherapy circuits with saunas, steam rooms, and hydromassage pools help circulation and relax the body.

These services are usually available for reservation (especially during high season) and many cruises offer packages so you can have a complete experience without worrying about every detail.

GYMS AND CLASSES ON THE DECK

If your idea of wellness includes movement, cruises have fully equipped gyms. You can find:

  • Cardiovascular machines (treadmills, bikes, ellipticals) with views of the sea.
  • Free weights and functional training equipment for those wanting to do some strength training.
  • Guided group classes like yoga at sunrise on the deck, Pilates, spinning, or even dance sessions.

The best thing is that most of these classes are designed for all levels, from beginners to expert fitness travelers. Being in such an inspiring environment like a cruise makes training feel less of an obligation and more like a discovery. This is how you experience the best sunsets in Mexico.

WELLNESS AND MINDFULNESS PROGRAMS

Cruise wellness isn’t just physical; it’s also mental and emotional. That’s why you’ll find activities that help you cultivate calm, focus, and inner connection, such as:

  • Guided meditation in panoramic spaces
  • Breathing and relaxation workshops
  • Nutrition, sleep, and overall health talks

All of this can be enjoyed with the sound of the waves in the background, intensifying the effect of each practice.

POOLS, HOT TUBS, AND RELAXATION AREAS

In addition to spas and gymnasiums, modern cruises have heated pools, panoramic hot tubs, and exclusive solariums, perfect for resting after a workout or training session. Many ships also offer adult-only spaces, ideal for those looking for a more serene break.

WELLNESS AS PART OF THE TRIP

The most important part of a wellness cruise is that it is not limited to one space: it is integrated into the entire Royal at Sea experience. You can start your day with yoga on the deck, reserve a massage in the afternoon, work out with a view of the sea, and end the day with a relaxing bath under the stars.

That way, wellness becomes part of your travel memories, without losing sight of the fact that a cruise not only takes you to new places… it also helps you feel good with yourself.

WHAT CRUISE ROUTE SHOULD YOU CHOOSE? FIGURE OUT YOUR TRAVEL STYLE

by Royal Holiday April 5, 2026
written by Royal Holiday
cruise route

Going on a cruise is one of the most complete ways to visit multiple destinations. However, before choosing a ship or a cruise line, a key decision that can transform your experience is the cruise route.

Some travelers want rest days by the sea, others prefer to explore new cities, or to combine both into one trip. That’s why, choosing the right itinerary is the first step in truly enjoying the cruise.

Nowadays, the most popular destinations among our Royal Holiday members are the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the Mediterranean. Among these, the Caribbean stands out as a favorite among travelers, accounting for approximately 40% of the most requested routes.

ROUTES FOR THE BEACH AND RELAXATION

If your idea of vacation includes sun and tropical landscapes, the routes in the Caribbean and the Bahamas are an excellent option.

These itineraries usually start in ports like Miami, Puerto Cañaveral, or Galveston, three of the most popular boarding ports. During the trip you can visit destinations like Cozumel, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, or Perfect Day at CocoCay, combining sea days and stops at paradisiac islands.

In this type of route, the vacation’s rhythm is usually more relaxed. You can enjoy the ship, rest in the pool, see spectacles, or simply contemplate the sea.

ROUTES FOR CULTURE AND CITIES

If your style is more related to discovering new cities and cultures, the routes in the Mediterranean can be ideal.

These itineraries allow you to visit many countries in one trip, stopping at cities like Athens, Santorini, Dubrovnik, or Venice. Each port offers an opportunity to try the local gastronomy and visit historic centers and cultural sites that are part of their history.

This type of cruise normally has a more dynamic focus, ideal for members who like to walk, visit museums, or discover local traditions.

FAMILY FUN

For family trips with younger kids, Disney cruises are really popular. These ships are designed to entertain both kids and adults, combining the Disney world with the comfort of a cruise.

Onboard, families can enjoy Broadway-style spectacles, encounters with iconic characters, themed water areas, and kids’ clubs for different ages. This lets every member of the family find activities they are interested in. Adults also have access to exclusive spaces where they can relax, enjoy restaurants, and spend time in quieter areas.

For many families, a Disney cruise is the perfect opportunity to combine the magic of entertainment with the experience of navigating and discovering new destinations in one trip.

AVAILABLE CRUISE LINES AND EXPERIENCES

Another important part when choosing a cruise is the cruise line. Some of the most popular ones recently are Royal Caribbean, MSC, and Carnival. They all offer different onboard experiences, from spectacles and gastronomy to recreational activities and entertainment for different ages. More than just a hotel, does a cruise have it all? Find out

Through Royal at Sea, members can explore different routes and cruise lines that align with their desired experience.

WHAT DOES A CRUISE INCLUDE?

One of the main benefits of traveling with Royal at Sea is that many services are already included in your trip.

Usually, a cruise includes:

  • Maritime transportation
  • Food and non-sparkling/non-alcoholic drinks
  • Port and government taxes
  • Entertainment onboard
  • Kids’ Club
  • Amenities such as pools, a gym, and recreational activities

This allows our members to enjoy the experience even more since most of the trip is organized from the beginning.

IMPORTANT ASPECTS BEFORE TRAVELING

Before booking a cruise it is also important to consider some basic travel requirements.

  • Valid passport (with at least 6 months of validity)
  • Migratory documents according to the destination
  • Make your reservation with enough time in advance to guarantee availability

Planning with time in advance lets you choose better dates, routes, and cabin options.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT ROUTE MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Choosing a cruise not only means getting on a ship; it means choosing what type of experience you want during your trip.

Some routes prioritize rest, others family fun, and others cultural destinations. Thinking about the type of vacation you enjoy will help you choose an itinerary that best adapts to your expectations.

If you would like to learn more about other routes, destinations, and available cruises, you can explore the options available to members or contact your Holiday Advisor for guidance on choosing the ideal itinerary.

SEA OF STORIES: ROUTES TO DISCOVER MARINE LIFE

by Royal Holiday January 26, 2026
written by Royal Holiday

Exploring the ocean from a cruise is one of the most exciting ways to connect with nature. But doing it during the season of clear waters multiplies the magic: the colors are intensified, the visibility improves, and the marine life is revealed at its highest splendor. If you’re a Royal Holiday Member and you’re planning a trip with Royal at Sea, here are some ideal routes to experience this in the best way. Why should you travel during the clear water season?

During certain months of the year, especially between the end of winter and spring, and during the fall, the sea becomes more transparent in many regions of the world. This is because of changes in season, sea currents, and reduced sediment. The result? A surprising visibility that allows you to see fish, reefs, turtles, dolphins, and rays from the surface, and even better when snorkeling or scuba diving.

  • WESTERN CARIBBEAN: CALM WATERS AND SEA TURTLES

The routes that visit Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica are among the favorites if you want to see marine wildlife. Cozumel is famous for its reef barrier, home to hundreds of colorful fish species. Grand Cayman stands out for its crystal waters and for experiences like swimming with rays at Stingray City. During the clear water season, these stops become perfect for underwater photography and snorkeling.

  • EASTERN CARIBBEAN: DOLPHINS AND VIBRANT REEFS

Itineraries that include St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and the Bahamas usually offer some of the best views of the Caribbean. The Bahamas, especially, will surprise you with its turquoise tones and coral gardens. Here it is also really common to see dolphins, nurse sharks, and a great variety of tropical fish.

  • ALASKA: OCEAN GIANTS IN MIGRATION SEASON

For those looking for something more than tropical fish, cruises to Alaska are a complete dream. The best season to watch hunchback whales, orcas, and sea lions is during the summer months, when the ocean giants migrate to these cold waters. From the deck of the ship, you can witness jumps, fin slapping, and natural spectacles that will leave you speechless.

  • MEXICAN RIVIERA: LIVING COLORS AND CLEAR DEPTH

Cruises that visit Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta allow you to observe rays, blowfish, turtles, and giant cardamom. The Baja California Peninsula, in particular, is one of the best places in the world to see whales between December and April. Discover the trip that has it all! Royal Caribbean can make it possible.

Make the most out of snorkeling and scuba diving tours offered by affiliated Royal at Sea cruise lines. They usually adapt activities to each season to guarantee better finds.

Marine life can be enjoyed in a different way when the water is clear. Choose the right route, travel during the best season, and let Royal at Sea take you as close to the treasures of the ocean as ever. Book your next cruise with your vacation credits and navigate towards an unforgettable underwater world.

EXPERIENCE THE CARIBBEAN WITH ROYAL AT SEA!

by Royal Holiday January 18, 2026
written by Royal Holiday

If you’ve ever dreamed about waking up in the middle of the sea, opening the window, feeling a different breeze and warmth with the promise of ending your day on an island in the Caribbean. Royal Caribbean makes that dream come true. It’s not only navigating: it is discovering that the ship in itself is part of the destination, and that every corner on board feels like a different adventure.

On a Royal Caribbean cruise, the Caribbean can be enjoyed at another level. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time or if you already know the sea, there’s always something new to discover. From beaches where time seems to have stopped, to colorful ports, every stop is an opportunity to experience the Caribbean with the tranquility of knowing that, at the end of the day, you’ll come back to a ship that has it all.

Life on board is a trip within the trip. You can start the day having breakfast by the sea, spend the afternoon at the pool, go on a giant water slide or the zip line in the middle of the ship, or enjoy a Broadway-style musical before going to bed. And between activities, the best thing is to feel free and move at your own pace without rushing.

The Caribbean on a cruise also means having unique land experiences, like the Perfect Day at CocoCay, a private island exclusive to passengers. Everything is designed to make each spot as special as the next one.

But if there’s something that makes Royal Caribbean stand out, it’s the perfect mix of adventure and comfort. ROYAL AT SEA: YOUR BEST FRIEND IN THE SEA

by Royal Holiday January 15, 2026
written by Royal Holiday

When you’re planning a vacation, the first thing you think about is probably the destination. But, where are you going if there are so many great places to choose from? That is what happens with Royal at Sea, the experience of traveling with Royal Caribbean that transforms a simple trip into a heartwarming journey. And there are at least five reasons why choosing it is one of the best decisions for your next vacation.

Firstly, a Royal Caribbean cruise is not just a ship; it is practically a floating city. Once on board, everything feels designed so you won’t miss anything: restaurants of all styles, impressive spectacles, pools, bars, activities, and quiet corners to relax.

It’s like having multiple vacations in one, because every day you can choose if you want an adventure, rest, or a party.

Another reason is the destinations you can visit. Imagine exploring multiple islands of the Caribbean in one week, without having to worry about flights, transportation, or bags. You wake up in one place, explore white sand beaches, enjoy local astronomy, and the next day the panorama is completely different. It’s incredible!

The value of comfort is also huge. Traveling on a cruise means having the same comfortable room to go back to, no matter where you’re going. You don’t have to pack and unpack every time you change destinations, and that gives you more time to enjoy. The ship becomes your home in the middle of the sea, a place across even though it surprises you with something new every day. This is the ultimate checklist for your cruise suitcase.

The fourth reason is innovation. Royal Caribbean has always looked to go even further in the iconic, for example, water slides just like a waterpark, surf simulators, world-class spectacles, and spaces designed for every traveler to find their own thing.

It is a trip that feels modern, designed for those looking for vulnerable and different experiences.

Lastly, the feeling of community. On board, you will meet people from all around the world, share moments on the deck, at themed dinners, or during tours, and you will start to build that familiar environment that makes the journey so special.

Take memories from incredible landscapes, but also from friendships and stories that made the trip memorable.

Royal at Sea transforms simple vacations into a complete experience where the trajectory and the destination are equally important. It is the type of adventure that combines sea, comfort, discovery, and fun in one package.

So if you’re thinking about booking your next cruise, do it with Royal at Sea. The Caribbean, the ship, and every moment in the sea will stay with you long after you go back, reserve by clicking here: https://www.royal-holiday.com
