Bali: An Amazing Paradise Awaits You In Indonesia

by Royal Holiday July 23, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

The Republic of Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia known for being the largest island country in the world with more than thirteen thousand islands. Both culturally and naturally, the country has much to offer to its visitors and is widely regarded as a beautiful and unique tourist destination. Indonesia’s forests cover about 57% of its land, it has the world’s longest coastline with a stretch of more than 54,000 miles and it also houses 20% of the world’s coral reef.

In this beautiful place that holds eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, we can find Bali, one of the world’s most beautiful, diverse and enigmatic islands.

Bali is an island and a province of Indonesia that includes the island Bali itself and a few other small islands as well. As of 2014, the population of Bali is 4,225,000 as of January 2014. The island is a very popular tourist destination; famous for its artistic culture, music and the yearly Indonesian International Film Festival they hold here. Agriculture is second only to tourism that encompasses about 80% of Bali’s economy, but still is the island’s largest employer.

The island’s biodiversity and ecology are unmatched. Bali holds about seven times more marines species than the entire Caribbean. This is due mostly to the strategic geographic location of the island, making it part of the famous Coral Triangle; an area that while only covering 1.6% of the planet’s oceanic area, holds about 76% of all known coral species in the world.

Places to see.

Seminyak

Seminyak is an area on the west coast of Bali that some of the most wonderful beaches in the island. The place is great to witness Balinese ceremonies on the beach, magical sunsets and the breathtaking beauty of the local scene. The place has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bali mainly because of its great restaurants, bars, shops and traditional stores.

Klungkung Palace

Officially known as Puri Agung Semarapura, this historical building compound situated in Semarapura, the capital of the Klungkung Regency on Bali, Indonesia was built at the end of the 17th century but the Dutch mostly destroyed it in 1908. Today, two of its buildings remain along a museum. They are the Kertha Gosa and the Bale Kambang.

Ubud

The group of small villages known as Ubud is located amongst rice paddies and sharp ravines in the central foothills of the Gianyar regency. The place has developed a large tourism industry based on culture, yoga and nature. Opposite to the main tourist area in southern Bali, the Ubud area has forests, rivers, cooler temperatures and less congestion. The town also has a number of art museums like the Blanco Renaissance Museum, the Puri Lukisan Museum, Neka Art Museum, and the Agung Rai Museum of Art.

Kuta

Kuta has what most people believe to be the most beautiful beaches in all of Bali. The place is a five-mile stretch of white sands alongside the most impossible blue waters. Kuta’s nightlife is vibrant and amazing; you can find it something for everyone in its many bars and nightclubs and the restaurants are to die for.

Gunung Kawi

Gunung Kawi is an 11th-century temple and funerary complex in Tampaksiring, north east of Ubud. The complex consists of 10 rock-cut candi (shrines) memorials cut out of the rock in imitation of statues. They stand in remarkable 8 meter-high sheltered alcoves cut into the cliff face. Be ready to walk up long climbs of stairs, as there are more than 270 steps. The views as you walk through ancient terraced rice fields are as fine as any in Bali.

Sanur

Sanur is a coastal stretch of beach of Denpasar city of southeast Bali; about 30 minutes drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Sanur is the perfect place for those want to get away from the party, nightlife, loud tourists and crowds and recharge their batteries. Traditional fishing boats can be seen on the beach of Sanur offering a scenic view of the island Nusa Penida. The place holds a great deal of modern history as well as the northern part of Sanur beach was used as the landing site for the Dutch invasion during the 1906 intervention. Also, during World War II, Sanur was once more the entry point through which the Japanese forces landed to occupy the island.

Our very own Karma Royal Jimbaran and Karma Royal Candidasa are located at prime spots in Bali, ready to offer you an amazing place to stay. Both are near some of the most amazing beaches in Bali and offering unique ambiance to ensure that your trip is your Balinese dream come true.

7 Of The Most Amazing Islands In Greece You Cannot Miss

by Royal Holiday July 14, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

The islands of Greece are what make the country so rich in culture and tradition and an integral part of its particular structure. Greek territory include more than 6,000 islands of all sizes through the Aegean and Ionian Seas, only 227 of those islands are inhabited.

The Greek Archipelago stretches over 7,500 km of the country’s entire 16,000 km coastline, displaying a highly differentiated landscape: beaches stretching over many kilometers, sheltered bays and coves, sandy beaches with sand-dunes, pebble beaches, coastal caves with steep rocks and dark colored sand typical of volcanic soil and coastal wetlands.

Some of the oldest civilizations in the history of mankind developed on the Greek islands (Cycladic, Minoan civilizations, etc.), hence the islands have unique archeological sites, a distinctive architectural heritage and the fascinating local traditions of a centuries-old and multifaceted civilization.

The ideal weather, the safe waters that provide opportunity to practice a myriad of aquatic activities and the shot distances between ports and coasts, have made the Greek islands extremely popular among tourists from all over the world.

Most of the islands sit on the Aegean Sea and are divided into seven groups: The Northeastern Aegean Islands, The Sporades, Evia, The Islands of Argosaronic, The Cyclades, The Dodecanese, and Crete. On the Ionian Sea there is only one set of islands called The Ionian Islands.

When we think of islands of adventure, people usually think of the Caribbean and all of its beautiful beaches and locations, but today in Royal Holiday, we bring you the best 7 Greek Islands you must visit.

Zakynthos

Zakynthos is the third largest of the Ionian Islands and is named after Zakynthos, the son of a legendary Arcadian chief Dardanus in Greek mythology. The island is famous for its amazing and photogenic beaches. Shipwreck Bay for example, is only reachable by boat but well worth the trip even if it gets a bit crowded at times. The beach and sea floor are made of white pebbles, and surrounded by turquoise waters. It is named after a shipwreck, which sank on the shore around 1980.

Delos

The island of Delos is located near Mykonos, right at the center of the Cyclades archipelago, is one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece. According to Greek mythology, Delos is the birthplace of Apollo, god of music, poetry, art, oracles, archery, plague, medicine, sun, light and knowledge. The island is known for its rich culture and high historical and archeological value. The entire island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it consists of ruins, which have been systematically unearthed since 1872, including temples, statues, mosaics and a theatre. Visitors cannot stay on the island overnight, so they arrive by boat from Mykonos.

Mykonos

Mykonos is part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. There are 10,134 inhabitants, most of whom live in the largest town, Mykonos, which lies on the west coast. The island is known for its lavish and modern style resorts and its beautiful architecture. Its economy is largely dependent on the sea as it is in most Greek island and on the rise of tourism.

Crete

Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands, and the fifth-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, after Sicily, Sardinia, Cyprus, and Corsica. The island’s southerly location gives it the longest growing season in all of Greece; making Crete on of the country’s best destination for food lovers and a great representation of the Mediterranean cuisine. Crete is also a growing destination for Agro tourism, and visitors from all over the world come here to sample some of the most authentic regional cooking.

Kefalonia/Cephalonia

Even though Santorini is famous for its wine, Kefalonia’s Robola Winery is responsible for the tipple of choice of drunken Father Arsenios in Louis de Bernières’ classic novel Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. As one of the largest islands in Greece, it is well equipped to handle the influx of tourists during the summertime and it has something to offer to everyone. The fishing villages of Fiskardo and Assos, and two natural attractions, Melissani underground lake and Myrtos beach, have helped popularize Cephalonia.

Symi

Symi is a prime destination for couples looking for a romantic getaway. The island has one of the most charming harbors in the country, packed with pastel-colored houses, bars, taverns and boutiques, and dozens of small beaches accessible only by boat. Since 1995, Symi has hosted the Symi Festival during the months of July to September. The festivities attract many Greek musicians to perform at free open-air concerts in the main square of Yialos, as well as many dance and theatre events.

Santorini

Candy-colored houses carved into cliffs, sapphire waters, gleaming white buildings topped with half-spheres the color of a stormy sky. Santorini is without a doubt, one of the most breath-taking destinations in the Aegean Sea and perhaps the whole world. Santorini has been voted as the world’s best island by many traveling magazines and blogs.

The Top 8 Most Popular Water Sports In The World

by Royal Holiday June 28, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

Here in Royal Holiday Cruises, we like helping you make the most out of your vacation getaways by giving you the best tips for going on holiday, telling you about the most exclusive destinations you must see and finally giving you all the insider information about the things to do and to enjoy while you are there.

Water sports are a great activity to do on holiday

especially because they are activities that usually not readily available unless you are in the ocean, because there is just something about scuba diving in your backyard pool that just doesn’t sound right.

Here we present to you, some of the most popular water sports in the world, so you can make sure to be ready to enjoy them, next time you decide to visit one of our wonderful destinations around the globe.

  1. Banana Boat

The Banana Boat is a timeless classic that continues to be popular all over the world, especially in tropical areas where the water temperature requires no wetsuits since getting wet is pretty much guaranteed. For those unfamiliar with this awesome craft, the banana boat is an unpowered, inflatable recreational boat meant for towing. The sled can accommodate from 3 to about 10 riders depending on the model and the power of the boat that’s being used for towing.

  1. Wakeboarding

Wake boarding is another tow and surface water sport, which involves riding a wakeboard over the surface of a body of water. It was developed from a combination of water skiing, snowboarding, and surfing techniques. The level of skill required is variable and can be easily enjoyed by first-timers as well as by experts in other type of surface sports.

  1. River Rafting

Also known as White Water River Rafting, this is a truly extreme sport that takes a lot of stamina and courage to perform. At the same time, beginners in the right conditions can do it since not all courses are as fast and dangerous. River Rafting can be done using large rafts especially designed to carry a team of riders, or individually in smaller kayaks.

  1. Scuba Diving

The word SCUBA is an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, a term coined by its inventor, Major Christian Lambertsen. The system is very popular amongst vacationers that want to explore the depths in some of the most beautiful underwater destinations all over the world. The only disadvantage of SCUBA diving is the fact that it takes a lot of training to be able to do it without a guide. However, most destinations offer quick courses that cover all the basics and with the help of a guide and instructor, will have you breathing underwater and living a one in a lifetime experience.

  1. Cable Skiing

Cable skiing is a new take on the traditional water ski or wakeboard where the water-skier is pulled by an electrically powered cable instead of a motorboat. The electric motor of the cable is quiet, clean and energy-efficient, making this activity a lot more environmentally friendly than regular water skiing. Cable Skiing is very popular in Europe but has been gaining momentum in the United States where it has become very popular in recent years.

  1. Jet Skiing

Another great and popular choice for adrenaline lovers. A jet ski is a motor powered watercraft, similar to a scooter or a motorbike that can carry one of two riders at great speeds on the surface of the water. Jet skiing is not recommended for children due to being dangerous because of the high speeds that can be reached.

  1. Parasailing

Also known as parakiting or parascending, is a recreational activity where a person attached to a parachute or kite, is towed by a boat and carried up into the air. Parasailing is a great activity that requires no training since the person attached to the sail does not control it. Parasailing is not really a water sport, is considered more of a fun ride that will provide you with the greatest view possible of your location.

  1. Snorkeling

According to Wikipedia, snorkeling is the practice of swimming on or through a body of water while equipped with a diving mask, a shaped tube called a snorkel, and usually fins. This is one of the most popular sports in the entire world, mainly because of how accessible it is to anyone and how little skill it requires you to have in order to get started.

The Caribbean is one of the greatest places to get started in snorkeling or to visit if you are already an initiate of this wonderful activity. Snorkeling is a great activity to bond with your loved ones, to practice as a family or with your partner that will not take up a lot of time nor your budget with expensive or cumbersome equipment.

Go extreme in the water on the most beautiful beaches in the world

by Royal Holiday June 16, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

Following up on my previous blog on New Exciting Extreme Aquatic Sports there are some new ones out there worth mentioning. Of course, there are some water sports that have even become quite common like surfing, kayaking, rafting, and even kitesurfing and windsurfing is becoming quite popular. Although there are some new ones that will blow you away and if you are an adventurous spirit, you’ll find your way to a beach to give it a try.

Water scooters

If you’re a huge fan of being in the water, but are not big on swimming, well you’ve got to consider getting on some kind of motorized vehicle to make your life a lot easier. Water scooters is definitely one of the ways to go! With a water scooter you can dive deeper and faster with the personal water propulsion device that you carry with you. And to top it off, it’s actually very easy to learn how to use. It can be tons of fun and there are lots of beaches that are now renting them.

Hydro flying

If you are interested in using motorized devices that make your activities in the water more enjoyable, but not necessarily under the water, this is another option for you. The jet-pack could be an option, but this one does take a lot more practice. It is recommended to take lessons, which can run from $50 to $100 per session. Once you’ve gotten the hang of it, it can definitely be fun for those who love doing tricks as you hover over the water.

Flyboarding

Similarly, to the hydro flying, it takes time to master. Flyboarding was inspired in the Back to the Future hover board. It has two water jets attached to the board allowing it to hover over the water. Learning how to use it may take a few more lessons, but will be well worth it when you feel yourself hovering over the water!

Flybiking

Although, it is quite similar to the previous ones mentioned, in this one you’re seated. The fact that you’re sitting does make the learning curve a lot faster, and lets you glide over the water and control your movements a lot easier than flyboarding and hydro flying.

Cage diving

Image courtesy of Ben Robinson at Flickr.com

Image courtesy of Ben Robinson at Flickr.com

If you ever dreamed of exploring the ocean without having to worry about the incoming sharks, or any other dangerous sea creatures, cage diving can make your dreams come true. Cage diving is basically when you are lowered into the ocean inside of a steel cage to protect you from all of the animals you may encounter.

Open water swimming

Any open body of water like an ocean, lake or even river can be the place to go open water swimming. The objective of open water swimming is to swim in open bodies of water with target distance or location. The first ever recorded open water swimming was in 1810 when Lord Byron swam several miles to cross the Hellespont, which is now known as the Dardanelles from Europe to Asia.

Jet boarding/surfing

HAWAII – JET SURF – NEW EXTREME SPORT

Jet boarding or surfing is something completely new, where there is no need to chase the waves to surf. It’s basically a board that has jets attached and allows you to similar surfing on any type of water surface even if there are no waves. Check out the video of some awesome jet surfers in Hawaii.

Hawaii is one of the most amazing destinations you could go to try any of these new water sports, and Royal Holiday can get you one step closer. You can even read more on the Best Extreme Sports to Practice in Hawaii in our previous post.

When checking out the different destinations, be sure to check out these three fabulous Royal Holiday resorts located in Hawaii.

Located in Kauai, The Cliffs Club is part of the 22-acre Princeville Resort which is simply breathtaking with its tropical garden and view of the North Pacific. You can find two tennis course, children’s playground, pool, spa and two nearby golf courses and a casino. Besides practicing water sports, you can can enjoy trekking, hiking and cycling in and around the resort.

Mauna Kai

The romantic spot is considered a paradise by most of its visitors. You can enjoy the walkways with waterfalls, gardens and ponds that are simply amazing decorations around the pool. The suites are simply amazing and perfect for a romantic getaway, and have all of the amenities that you’ll need while staying on the island.

Kona Coast Resort

Finally, any of the suites can offer either mountain or ocean view. You will find fully-equipped kitchens, washers and dryers in every suite, along with TV in the living room and every bedroom. The resort facilities include a poolside restaurant, shuffleboard, swimming pools, spas, tennis court, weight and aerobic room, as well as a jogging path. Islands That Will Take Your Breath Away

by Royal Holiday June 13, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

This is just a starter for your next travel destination… Image fine sand, turquoise waters, tranquility, relaxation…. When you think of an island this is what you think of, and maybe a piña colada, right?  However, for those adventurers who want to see beyond the Caribbean there are many islands around the world worth visiting.  In Europe there are amazing places, many of them have wonders yet to be explored.

If you want more than playing sports, making sand castles or spending a conventional honeymoon, this list is for you, so you can have the time of your life.

To find out more about how to prepare for next your trip visit https://royalholidaycruises.com/cruise-destinations/

Solta (Croatia)

The archipelago of Central Dalmatia is home to numerous islands; among them is Solta, close to the Islands of Brac, Korcula and Hvar.  This tranquil island is an ideal destination for all those looking for an idyllic place, full of vineyards and olive trees. During summertime tourism increases significantly since this destination is chosen by many to enjoy vacation time. One of its attractions, of course, is its beach and its turquoise and crystal clear waters. Concerning lodging options there is a luxurious hotel called “Martinis Marchi” established in a beautiful old castle, but there are private inns as well that are very reasonable.

Its climate is mediterranean, with mild temperatures during the summer and winter.   Most of its inhabitants work fishing. Also very good quality lime is produced here.  The environment is amazing and many businesses serve in the area, from boat rentals to numerous beach bars for the visitors to enjoy all the fun there is to be offered.

Svalbard Archipelago (Norway)

The archipelago of Svalbard is located over a 1,000 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, halfway between Norway and the North Pole, and is a network of fjords and mountainous islands covered with numerous glaciers where the amazing icebergs of the area emerge. Despite its proximity to the North Pole, the climate is relatively benign because of the warm gulf current that bathes its coasts. This creates the strange paradox that gathers both, a polar spectacular landscape, and a temperature that is relatively mild for the arctic location. This contrast offers the perfect conditions for the presence of wildlife such as wild reindeers, seals, polar bears, etc.

This place has amazed travellers for years.  Unique wildlife, arctic nature, and old mining towns are found in these islands, which have especial austere and mysterious beauty.

Apart from being the home to thousands of polar bears, the islands are also home to nearly 3000 inhabitants, many of which live in Longyearbyen, the administrative center and one of the largest settlements of the archipelago. This small and colorful community has gone from being a typical village to a modern population with different types of businesses and industries, and with a surprisingly wide range of activities and cultural opportunities, such as concerts, shows, festivals and exhibitions. In Longyearbyen you will also find several bars and first class restaurants, more than you would expect in such a small community.

Sark (Channel Islands, UK)

Image courtesy of Chris_J at Flickr.com

Image courtesy of Chris_J at Flickr.com

The Island of Sark is located in the Channel Islands, 80 miles away from south of England. It is the smallest of the four main islands and is part of Guernsey. It has 600 inhabitants and the use of motorized vehicles is prohibited in the islands, so bikes, horse carriages and tractors are the allowed means of transportation, adding an interesting component to this unique location. A visit to Sark is a step back in time. Most people come here for peace and tranquility and to appreciate the landscape and the abundance of wild flowers and sea birds. The landscape of the island of Sark includes meadows full of wildflowers, a dramatic rugged coastline. Therefore, Sark is an ideal place for hiking. The views from the cliffs are spectacular. This is truly a small piece of paradise.  It offers a truly unique experience for visitors who come here looking for fresh air and tranquility and want to avoid city lights and the rush of the city life.

There are good restaurants, fish and local seafood, and you can travel back in time enjoying a lobster Thermidor as if you were in the 80s in The Sablonnerie or in Aval du Creux.  The only way to reach the island (unless you have a helicopter or own boat) is from a small boat from Guernsey or Jersey. You will arrive at the port and a tractor will take your bags up to your hotel.

A common mistake people makes when booking their cruise, is not leaving any room for error or unexpected delays. This is especially true when going on cruises that depart from Europe and you live in the United States or vice versa. Flights may get delayed or luggage may go missing and without any wiggle room you may miss your departure and ruin your whole vacation. Fly a day ahead if possible and avoid this type of problems.

  1. Be prepared if you suffer from motion sickness.

A cruise ship is not the same as a small boat of course. You will not feel waves the same way as in a small fishing raft, but if you are especially sensitive to motion sickness, you may want to take extra precautions. Do not wait until you start feeling sick to take motion sickness pills or whatever method you decide to go with. Don’t let something like that ruin your experience by making sure you are prepared before hand, especially on days the waters are choppy.

  1. Be aware of what you eat.

The food is one of the greatest things about being on a cruise. Just make sure you don’t go overboard with the 24-hour availability of all those amazing dishes. Make sure you pace yourself and eat accordingly and don’t ruin your trip because you ate too much and got sick or feel bad afterwards because you gained a few pounds. If you have specific eating habits, you will find healthy options for sure so you don’t have to change the way you normally eat. It is common that people get sick from mixing and matching foods they don’t normally eat all the time and overindulge just because they are readily available. Be mindful of your options.

  1. Explore the ship.

Is advisable to do this even before you book your cruise, but on the first day and even as you are well into your voyage, explore your surroundings. Ships are miniature cities with a lot of great secrets waiting to be discovered. Check out all the amenities and know where to go and how to get there quickly.

  1. Be aware of schedule activities.

Don’t miss out on the fun just because you didn’t know about the lobster eating contest or the karaoke night! There are many activities scheduled for your days at sea; make sure you are aware of what’s going on and ready to participate. The trips are specially designed to entertain you so just make sure you check out the schedules on onboard activities for the whole family.

  1. Keep in mind a diverse Dress Code.

Pack like you would for a vacation. Remember there are nights when dressing up is encouraged and days when the weather pretty much forces you to dress down to the bare minimum. Have comfortable shoes to walk about and don’t think just because you are in the Caribbean that you won’t need a sweater. Nights may get cold at times and rain may start at any moment, so an umbrella or some rain gear will not be a bad idea to pack.

  1. Disconnect from the world.

There are so many amazing things to do that you will not be missing your constant checking of your Facebook status or your email inbox. Unplug from the world and spend quality time with yourself and your loved ones. You will not regret using this opportunity to truly disconnect.

  1. Socialize and be surprised.

Cruises are some of the best places to make new friendships. You will meet a lot of great people who may be experts at this experience or newbies just like you. Give yourself the opportunity to be amazed by stories and listen to possible recommendations that may be just what you were looking for. Cruises are a great bonding experience.

The Best Aquatic Sports In Paradise

by Royal Holiday May 29, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

The Caribbean possesses wonderful marvels like its turquoise waters and soft sandy beaches, matched by its diversity in foods and cultures that make this place such special destination. The Caribbean is known for its breath-taking landscapes, but mainly for its amazing islands that allow partaking in a great number of aquatic sports, perfect for all lovers of these activities and those who want to experiment them for the first time.

The warm temperatures of the waters make it so much easier to spend the entire day engaged in a wide array of aquatic activities like snorkeling and scuba diving, which seem to be the visitors’ favorites.

Scuba Diving

Having bottles of compressed air strapped to your body as you discover the depths is definitely the ideal way to go about this type of underwater exploration. However, due to the number of risks and the training requirements of this activity, scuba diving must be done only by those who are certified or accompanied by a proper guide during immersions.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling or free diving is a low-tech version of scuba diving that doesn’t really require any equipment but instead it does call for being in great shape. Even though the immersions are shorter in durations, they require less technical handling of equipment and therefore allow you to enjoy the views much better.

Other sports.

Underwater sports are not the only options of course, one may also enjoy kite surfing, kayaking, fishing and surfing amongst many others.

Places in the Caribbean to enjoy water sports.

Cabarete Beach

Cabarete is found on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. There are many hotels, exquisite restaurants, bars and tourism in this small coastal island. Wonderful mountains, lagoons and amazing landscapes, surround the place. Its beaches are privileged by white sands and clear waters where people engage in windsurfing and kitesurfing. The PWA windsurfing tour has taken place there before.

Isla Margarita

This island belongs to the province of New Spain in Venezuela and is known and the pearl of the Caribbean. Its tropical weather allows sports like wind and kitesurfing, and sights of beautiful coral reefs for those into scuba diving. The area constitutes of four important islands called Virgen Gorda. Tortola, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke. Flyboarding is a common activity in the area, due to the clarity of the water and the depth that allows to “fly” while underwater and also when coming up with ease. Flyboarding is an amazing experience you must try. Yaque beach is perfect destination for this sports but only for those advanced practitioners.

Granada

Nicknamed the Spice of the Caribbean. This place is great for relaxing in beaches were more passive activities take place. Sailboating, fishing as well as cycling and trekking are quite common here. Those into scuba diving will be delighted to visit aquatic park Molinere where they will find underwater statues very deep down in the water. Granada’s three main islands are Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Aruba

Known for its amazing weather and quiet beaches, Aruba offers adventure so much in sea as in land. Exquisite foods from all over the world and a vibrant nightlife with many places that will for sure entertain its visitors.

If you are into aquatic sports, the winds you’ll find in Aruba’s beaches will keep you hooked to wind and kitesurfing, jetskiing, parasailing, snorkeling and many, many more.

Seabob

This type of scooter is an underwater propulsion vehicle that allows a passage to travel fast and smoothly underwater.

Kayaking

Mangroves and hidden caves are everywhere to be seen and waiting to be explored as you watch the sunset in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world.

Underwater Walking

This is not your regular entertainment. Underwater walking allows you to explore the sea bottom with the help of a special helmet and feed the fish by your own hand. It requires no prior experience and everyone can enjoy it as long as a trained guide accompanies them. One of the coolest experiences about this activity is visiting a sunken airplane and watching all the creatures that inhabit the place today.

Diving

Aruba is famous for scuba diving due to its amazing formations of coral and the sunken SS Antilles measuring more than 400 feet in length.

Atlantis Submarine

Atlantis is an underwater adventure like no other. Being in Aruba is the perfect opportunity to take place in this amazing underwater ride and visit places like the coral reef, Barcadera and to witness with your own eyes the mysterious sunken airplane.

Find Out the Best Tips for Each Royal Holiday Cruise Route

by Royal Holiday May 23, 2016
written by Royal Holiday

Many people dream of going away on a cruise and having the time of their lives, but for some the day it comes it may not be all they had in mind. Planning is everything and getting all the details right will make the difference between an ok experience and a cruise of a lifetime. Royal Holiday offers cruises all around the world to places as exotic as the Greek Islands or as remote as Alaska. In each amazing route you will lose yourself in the amazing scenery and landscapes from beaches to mountains and sunny paradises to frozen wonderlands. To make sure you have an absolutely amazing time on the cruise of your choice here are the tops tips for each of Royal Holiday’s routes.

Alaska

Crown Princess

With Royal Holiday you can visit Alaska on the Crown Princess, but be sure to follow these tips to guarantee an absolutely amazing vacation. To truly enjoy the wildlife and scenery be sure to book your trip, although you will find the routes available, and if you choose this destination it’s important to be aware of the weather and how this may be a difficulty when planning certain activities. If you are decided on enjoying the mountains, glaciers and the Arctic tundra then you have to analyze if you prefer “high” 50s and 70s temperature for the region, but crowds at every stop, and some rain then it’s best to travel in June, July or August. Now if you are more interested in less crowds and cheaper prices then you may consider going in May and September, although it is important to remember that the weather will be more unpredictable so activities may be cancelled more often, and if you’re one for getting seasick than you may reconsider these months due to the choppy waters in the Gulf of Alaska. On the other hand, September does offer the best time of year to see the Northern Lights.

Greek

MSC Cruceros – Orchestra and MSC Cruceros – Magnifica

The Greek Islands are for everyone, and will give each traveler an experience they won’t forget. Even if you a history-lover or more of a shopper, you’ll find both ancient ruins to visit and places to learn about the Crusades in the Middle Ages, and stores and galleries that will seem like heaven. Not to mention to gorgeous beaches. Although July and August are the most popular time of year to take a cruise in the Greek Islands, you may want to remember that the temperature can reach up to 100 degrees, whereas you’ll find more pleasant weather in June and September. If you are a wine-lover, besides enjoying the benefits of less people and cooler climate when visiting in September, you will also find that it is grape harvest time at Santorini’s vineyards. While on the Orchestra you will stop by Santorini, one of the most iconic ports in Greece and be able to enjoy your love for wine, while doing some shopping in the city of Oia. So when packing for the Greek Islands prepare for the sun, and once you arrive the crowds especially during high season. Lastly, in Greece there tends to be a high price fluctuation due to tax increases, always verify the prices online before you travel.

Bahamas

Royal Caribbean – Majesty of the Seas

With Royal Holiday you can take advantage and save money by booking of shoulder-season cruise rates when planning your vacation for April, September or October. When roaming the islands be sure to take full advantage of the meals prepared on deck and included in your package, and then visit the island. You can always rent a taxi and make your own tours. Of course take advantage of the duty-free shopping, but be aware that what you buy is not anything you could get back home for the same or similar price. Finally, just be sure to pack country-club casual clothing, bathing suits and plenty of sunscreen, as well as keeping an eye out for the rising crime especially at night or in remote places.

Southern Caribbean

Carnival – Splendor

While visiting the South Caribbean you’ll find that the high season is December through April, but the best time of year to visit won’t vary since climate is usually quite similar throughout the year. The only warning is to be aware of hurricane season that goes from June through November. You might want to plan your trip for late summer and early fall so that you get the best deals. Everyone who is offering their services will be expected to be paid, so be sure to have an idea of what they cost, as well as the norm 10% to 15% tipping protocol. Be sure to look for Netherlands and French goods that are imported and have great deals. Finally, always ask for a receipt when you pay, to make sure that later there are no confusions of not having paid yet.
